The group of temples at Anjaneri, located close to Trimbakeshwar, comprises temples and mathas of varying sizes and typologies. These temples date from the 10 -11th century CE and mark an early phase of structural temple architecture in the Deccan in the medieval period (1000-1350 AD). They showed varying degrees of deterioration with some being partially or completely collapsed.
The Detailed Project Report consisted of detailed architectural documentation, measures for the structural conservation, and recommendations for developing the environs to make it visitor-friendly, actions to preserve these monuments for future. It was achieved through archival research, on-site surveys, inventorying, identification of protected and unprotected heritage resources, documentation, condition assessment, scientific investigations, identifying issues at building as well as site level, assessment of larger context, coordination with local bodies, stakeholders etc.
