RESEARCH & DOCUMENTATION
The quality of decision making in any conservation initiative is directly proportional to the degree of understanding of the cultural resources under question. Hence, Research & Documentation are the key activities for understanding the significance of tangible and intangible heritage in the Architectural Conservation practice of Heritage Matters.
We work on -
- Documenting traditional knowledge systems in architecture and validate its relevance in current context for implementation.
- Mapping of built heritage
- Architectural Documentation of protected and unprotected ancient monuments, archaeological sites and remains, historic houses,
- Listing of built heritage structures in historic settlements, regions etc
- Collecting and creating data bank/ archives related to built heritage with a focus on the Deccan plateau
- Creating a data bank of skills needed for restoring buildings
