The principal mosque of Hyderabad, the Mecca Masjid is a 17th century structure of high religious and architectural significance. Sited along the primary axis from Charminar, the Mecca Masjid is a complex of 4.19 acre in area. It consists of a mosque and other associated structures like dargah, tombs, libraries, madrasas etc. The historic structure required a holistic approach in the protection, management and development to address the long pending issues related to the building condition impacting the significance of historic Mecca Masjid complex. Heritage Matters is involved in the preparation of Plan for the Conservation including up-gradation of all the infrastructure facilities to meet the growing needs of Protection, Management and Development of Mecca Masjid.
