Heritage Matters was established by Architect Sarath Chandra in 2012 as an associate division of Gayathri and Namith Architects.

The firm offers consultancy services in the field of Architectural Conservation, Conservation Management and Planning, Research and Documentation, Museums and Interpretation with projects primarily in the Deccan region in peninsular India.

Heritage Matters is headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka and has offices in Hyderabad, Telangana; Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and a site office in Anegundi, Hampi. 

OUR TEAM

The firm has a collective experience of 20 years with conservation professionals having wide experience in building conservation, adaptive reuse, planning and management of heritage sites (including world heritage management), archaeological sites etc.

The practice aims to bring in required multi-disciplinary skills to address the needs of built heritage protection & management in India, under one umbrella.

Through the practice, we examine the relevance of historic architectural knowledge systems in the current context.

The practice recognizes the importance of & implements Heritage Stewardship in the current state of conservation of built heritage in India.
